The story opens in 2007 with Esther Hecht telling her grandson Daniel of her parents' arrest by the Nazis at the beginning of World War II and their subsequent deportation to Auschwitz with a neighbor called Bob. Esther manages to escape. Daniel locates Bob, who also survives the Holocaust, after researching on the Internet.
This is the indispensable visual guide to the tragic but inspiring story of Anne Frank. Produced in association with The Anne Frank House and filled with never-before-published snapshots, school pictures, and photos of the diary and the Secret Annex, this elegantly designed album is both a stand-alone introduction to Anne's life and a photographic companion to a classic of Holocaust literature.
Photographs, illustrations, and maps accompany historical essays, and diary excerpts, providing an insight to Anne Frank and the massive upheaval which tore apart her world.
A Photographic Remembrance
This is a very special companion volume to "Anne Frank's diary" which provides an excellent picture of the life of Jewish refugees in Holland from 1942-1943
Overzicht in woord en beeld van het leven van Anne Frank (1929-1945).
