Nachdruck der Originalausgabe von 1896. Georg von Below beschreibt in seinem Werk "Das Duell und der germanische Ehrbegriff" die historischen Wurzeln des Duells. Er schildert den gerichtlichen Zweikampf, das Fehderecht, das Turnier und deutsche System der Behandlung von Ehrverletzungen aus denen letztlich das Duell entstanden ist. Letztlich beschreibt er noch wie sich das Duellwesen unter Heinrich III. von Frankreich entwickelte.
