The goal of this book is to reflect on a long-overdue dialogue between academics of two apparently incompatible bases of the fields of cognitive linguistics and historical linguistics. The basis of the collected volume was that the predominantly practical-based area of historical linguistics will profit from theoretical input, just as cognitive linguistics reserach will be stimulated by the more practical perspective provided by historical linguistics. The result is this publication, the first of its kind to reflect such an overwhelming mutual feedback.

Arguments from presumption are based on assumptions that are taken to be true unless and until contrary evidence becomes available. The essays collected in the present volume investigate study of some fields of application of arguments from presumption in early modern practical thought that are all, in some way or other, of philosophical interest: The role of presumptions for the morality of derogatory judgments; the role of presumption in the justification of the binding power of laws concerning price regulation; the role of presumptions in theories of meaning, especially in the debate about the role of common linguistic usage for legal interpretation; the role of presumptions for problems in political philosophy such as the treatment of so-called excepted crimes (high treason and witchcraft), the question of whether usucaption (the acquisition of ownership through long-standing possession) can take place in international relations; the role presumptions in political decision-making as well as the moral and political significance of the presumption in favor of the justice of a given action.

This volume unites seventeen cutting-edge research articles about historical and contemporary issues surrounding the philosophical concept of animal. The historical issues include questions concerning the relation between the animal organism and its environment, the nature and origin of animal souls, the metaphysics of animal generation and the moral and legal standing of animals in ancient, Renaissance, early modern and late 18th/early 19th century philosophy. The contemporary issues include questions concerning the nature of animal experience and consciousness, the role of folk psychology in animal cognition research, the mereological analysis of the unity of the animal organism, and the role of animalism in theories of personal identity. Also contemporary issues concerning the status of animals in natural law, the possibility of moral emotions in non-human animals and the role of reason for understanding the relation between human and non-humans animals are discussed. All contributions have been specially commissioned for the present volume.

Dieses Arbeitsheft führt Studierende der Romanistik in die lexikalische Semantik ein und reflektiert aktuelle Theoriediskussionen. Es unterscheidet sich von vorherigen Einführungen durch seine allgemein-romanische Orientierung und die Berücksichtigung neuerer kognitiver Ansätze der Semantikforschung. Im Vergleich zu anderen aktuellen Einführungen hebt es sich durch die Aufarbeitung älterer Modelle und die umfassende Einbeziehung der diachronischen Semantik ab. Wichtige Grundlagen wie lexikalische Relationen sowie die Unterscheidung zwischen Polysemie und Homonymie werden geklärt. Die strukturelle Semantik, generative Ansätze und Kognitive Semantik, insbesondere die Prototypentheorie und Frames-and-Scenes-Semantik, werden vorgestellt. Ein ausführlicher Teil widmet sich der Historischen Semantik, beginnend mit der semasiologischen Perspektive, die Grundlagen, Typik und Motive des Bedeutungswandels behandelt. In der onomasiologischen Perspektive werden verschiedene Arten des lexikalischen Wandels, einschließlich Wortbildung und Entlehnung, analysiert. Die Vielfalt der behandelten Aspekte ermöglicht die Entwicklung einer komplexen Bedeutungstheorie: der „Drei-Ebenen-Semantik“.

Das Schulbuch für das 2. Ausbildungsjahr im Groß- und Außenhandelsmanagement orientiert sich am Rahmenlehrplan von 2020 und behandelt die Lernfelder 5-9. Es integriert digitale Aspekte, bietet praxisnahe Übungen und unterstützt die Selbstreflexion. Zudem sind aktuelle gesetzliche Änderungen und didaktische Hinweise enthalten.

Die 11. Auflage des Lehr- und Arbeitsbuchs "Betriebswirtschaftslehre" bietet einen anschaulichen Einblick in wirtschaftliche Grundtatbestände anhand des Modellunternehmens RAND OHG. Es unterstützt den beruflichen Einstieg in kaufmännische Tätigkeiten und fördert die Analyse wirtschaftlicher Veränderungen.

Das Lehrwerk für die Höhere Berufsfachschule NRW vermittelt praxisnahe Inhalte anhand des Modellunternehmens "Bürodesign GmbH". Es umfasst Einstiegssituationen, Sachinhalte, Zusammenfassungen und Aufgaben. Band 2 behandelt die Handlungsfelder Absatz, Personal, Investition und Finanzierung sowie Wertströme und berücksichtigt digitale Aspekte.

Das Lehrwerk für die Fachoberschule Wirtschaft und Verwaltung in Niedersachsen bietet praxisorientiertes Unterrichten mit dem Modellunternehmen "Bürodesign GmbH Aurich". Es umfasst strukturierte Kapitel zu Handlungssituationen, Sachinhalten und Aufgaben sowie Inhalte zur computergestützten Informationsverarbeitung und ERP-Software. Neu in der 3. Auflage 2022 sind aktualisierte Inhalte.

Das Schulbuch für das dritte Ausbildungsjahr im Büromanagement behandelt die Lernfelder 9-13 des Rahmenlehrplans. Es bietet praxisnahe Fallbeispiele, strukturierte Kapitel mit Handlungssituationen und Aufgaben. Die englische Sprache ist integriert, und zusätzliches Material ist als Download und Druck erhältlich.

Dieses Lehrwerk behandelt betriebswirtschaftliche Inhalte in 10 Lernfeldern und umfasst Präsentationstechniken sowie vermögenswirksame Leistungen. Es ist für alle drei Ausbildungsjahre geeignet und richtet sich an verschiedene Medienberufe. Ergänzende Materialien sind separat erhältlich.
