In 1586, Sir Nicholas Beauvallet, a notorious corsair of the Elizabethan era and a favorite of the Queen, sails the seas aboard the "Venture," plundering Spanish ships. During a return trip to Spain, Doña Dominica de Rada y Sylva, a beautiful heiress, is horrified when her galleon is attacked by pirates.
