Former commando Martin Corridon, previously introduced in the novel "Who is Mallory?", is living in post-war London with a tarnished reputation. One day, a friend shows him a white jade ring that someone has left behind. Shortly after, she is murdered, and it appears the killing is linked to the ring. Colonel Ritchie, Corridon's former superior during the war, seeks his help. A dangerous secret organization in England is using jade rings to inflict harm on the country. Ritchie's niece, Marien, is also involved, adding to the stakes. Corridon must recall his wartime experiences and attempt to infiltrate the organization. A perilous game for survival begins, as he navigates treachery and danger to uncover the truth behind the ring and the sinister plot at play.
