Meer over het boek

From 2011 to 2016, Swiss-Italian photographer PierLuigi Macor (b. 1960) made five extensive road trips across the United States. from Montana to Colorado, Texas to new Orleans, and up the Mississippi River, Macor traversed America looking to capture the heart of the country in his contemplative color photographs. The end result of these personal journeys is the new publication Bowie, Texas. Containing almost one hundred color photographs, the book slowly unravels America, showing images of Mexican street vendors and drunken rednecks, as well as dusty streets and even an espresso bar under the pink skies of Detroit. Macor delicately and perceptively captures these cinematic scenes of everyday life across America and the individual fates that he encountered on the road. Macor, who is based in Zrich and Paris, is recognized for his commercial photographic work for international fashion magazines, including ID, Vogue, Biba, Elle, and Big. His book Zukunft was published by edition Patrick frey in 2009.
