Regan and Jack Reilly decide to celebrate their first wedding anniversary at a beach house on Cape Cod, seeking peace and privacy. However, a storm disrupts the tranquility of the area, which typically comes alive in summer. As rain lashes the house and trees bend dangerously, Regan is content to watch from the window. But things take a turn when Jack returns from shopping with two curious neighbors, whose window was broken by a falling branch and have nowhere to go.
