Ghyl Tarvoke lives with his father on Halma, a remote world in the vastness of the galaxy. From an early age, Ghyl experiences the oppression of the mysterious "Lords," who ruthlessly exploit the people of Halma. When his father dies due to the ruling system, Ghyl becomes a rebel. He leaves his homeworld aboard a stolen spaceship and travels across the galaxy, determined to uncover the well-guarded secret of the "Lords" and bring freedom to his people. Ghyl eventually reaches Earth, the legendary planet of his ancestors, where he hopes to find the key to liberation.
