In the aftermath of a subway explosion during a school trip, Jesse and his friends emerge to find New York City in ruins and eerily deserted. As they navigate the chaos, they encounter other survivors who have been infected by a virus, transforming them into terrifying predators. The group must confront not only the dangers of their environment but also the threat posed by these infected individuals as they struggle to survive in a drastically altered world.
