Set in the spring of 1987, the story follows Ed Underwood, a personnel manager content with his job, girlfriend, and karate hobby. His life takes a dramatic turn when company president Henry Cohen presents him with a cryptic and threatening anonymous note, seeking Ed's psychological insight.
