Wyst, the sole moon of the star Dwan, is registered in the Connat's star charts as Alastor 1716 and is renowned throughout Alastor as a coveted utopia, attracting countless individuals. For a century, its inhabitants have lived in absolute equality, minimizing work, sharing all goods, and enjoying unrestricted sexual freedom. Painter Jantiff Ravenstroke travels to Wyst to capture the unique light of the sun Dwan. He painfully discovers the true nature of this "utopia." By chance, he uncovers a murderous conspiracy that puts his life in jeopardy.
