Joseph Geist is broke, his graduate school adviser won't talk to him and his girfriend has kicked him out. Just as he is giving up hope he sees an ad which sounds perfect for him. He will be paid to make conversation and the woman behind the ad turns out to be the perfect employer. Joseph is so comfortable he will do anything to stay forever.
