In 1702, during the time when the pivateering and slave trade were expanding in the Caribbean Sea, Trinidad is ransacked by pirates who kidnap the beautiful Catalina. When her fiance, the young Frenchman Pierre de la Croix, returns and discovers her missing, he vows to find his love. But in order to do so, he will have to learn the ways of privateers, untangle a political plot, find the English spy in his crew, and challenge his best friend to a duel.
