Travel writer Tony Perrottet decided to retrace the steps of the world's first tourists, the Ancient Romans, travelling from Rome, through to Greece, Turkey and Egypt. Taking his pregnant girlfriend with him, he misguidedly promised 'No terror, no squalor'. Soon they were in Pompeii searching for the brothel, inspecting a rather feeble replica wooden horse at Troy and avoiding 'Pyramidiots' in Egypt.
