An excellent science fiction novel that fairly glitters with imaginative devices and perfectly captures the sense of alienness and other worlds that defines the genre. The characters are very strange, yet they become absorbingly real, making it difficult to leave them behind. The story tells of three unusual children born to astronauts after they return from a moon flight where they were exposed to strange crystals from outer space. The children, two beautiful and one a shaggy monster, grow up with inhuman capabilities.
