This book is part of a series of supplementary books on English language skills aimed at adults and young adults. Each book is divided into units designed to last for a lesson of approximately 50 minutes and includes a grid describing the skills, topic and language functions covered in each unit. It comprises 20 two page units based on taped material at intermediate level. There are a variety of listening topics such as a story, interview, discussion, monologue, news report and lecture based on authentic or stimulated authentic material. Integrated activities covering pre-listening tasks and discussion based on listening for gist and specific information, prediction and writing tasks based on topics are included. The book includes tapescripts, teacher's notes and removable answer key.
