Wie Obelix als kleines Kind in den Zaubertrank geplumpst ist gehört zu den größten Mysterien der Comicgeschichte. Dieses illustrierte Bilderbuch ist eine kleine Sensation: Es handelt sich um ein Asterix-Abenteuer von 1967 mit Texten von René Goscinny und Zeichnungen von Albert Uderzo, das bisher noch nie als Buch veröffentlicht wurde! Das ganze Dorf ist in Aufruhr: Troubadix hat beschlossen, am legendären Gesangswettbewerb für die Barden Galliens teilzunehmen. Der Gewinner des Wettbewerbs wird traditionell mit dem goldenen Hinkelstein ausgezeichnet. Weil auch die Römer großes Interesse an diesem Wettbewerb haben, werden Asterix und Obelix beauftragt, Troubadix zu seinem Schutz begleiten. Sie dürfen ihm nicht von der Seite weichen – koste es, was es wolle! Dieses einzigartige Abenteuer, bei dem es sich nicht um einen Comic handelt, wurde 1967 in Frankreich als Schallplatte mit Begleitheft veröffentlicht, jedoch niemals als Album und noch nie in deutscher Sprache! Für heutige Leser hat die Geschichte echten Seltenheitswert: Die Story ist von René Goscinny mit dem für ihn typischen Witz und Esprit verfasst, die Zeichnungen tragen den meisterhaften und unverwechselbaren Pinselstrich Albert Uderzos. Ende 2019 wurden die Zeichnungen, die Albert Uderzo 1967 zur Untermalung des genialen Szenarios seines Freundes anfertigte, von Uderzos treuesten Mitarbeitern und noch unter Aufsicht des im März 2020 verstorbenen Maestros höchstselbst restauriert.
