In vrije val, want vaste grond is zeldzaam in de wolk. Alles zweeft en veel ervan is eetbaar en kan vliegen De eerste mensen die uit Discipline vluchtten, beitelden zich een eenvoudig maar gerieflijk bestaan op en rond de kilometers-lange zwevende bomen die langzaam door de wolk wentelen. Geleidelijk neemt hun aantal toe, ze ontwikkelen verschillende beschavingen en na eeuwen ontdekken de afzonderlijke groepen elkaar…complicaties blijven niet uit. Een nieuw degelijk boek en spannend SF-avontuur van de meesterbedenker van ‘vreemde werelden’
