Konrad Lorenz Boeken

    7 november 1903 – 27 februari 1989

    Konrad Lorenz was een Oostenrijkse zoöloog en wordt beschouwd als een van de grondleggers van de moderne ethologie. Hij bestudeerde het instinctieve gedrag van dieren, met een bijzondere focus op grauwe ganzen en roeken. Lorenz verwierf brede bekendheid door zijn beschrijvingen van het imprintingsproces, waarbij jonge vogels instinctief een band vormen met het eerste bewegende object dat ze na het uitkomen waarnemen. Zijn gezamenlijke werk met Nikolaas Tinbergen legde de basis voor de ethologie als een aparte biologische discipline.
