In "De Drakenruiters," every few centuries, the malevolent star Coralyne appears in the sky of Aerlith, bringing with it the chilling Grondvormen that abduct humans. A few captured Grondvormen are transformed by the residents into a formidable army of dragons, including fearsome Hellevegen and deadly Schrijdende Moordenaars. When the Grondvormen return, they confront their monstrous, twisted descendants—the dragons. This work is a recipient of the Hugo Award.
