There is increasing recognition that current methods for testing visual functions are inadequate for specific issues and need to be enhanced with specialized dynamic testing techniques. Evidence from large-scale mass screenings conducted two decades ago indicated that visual acuity, traditionally assessed using static samples, does not equate to dynamic visual acuity—the ability to perceive moving targets. Consequently, conventional vision tests offer limited insight into an individual's capacity to identify, appreciate, and judge mobile objects. This article focuses on dynamic stereoacuity, which pertains to spatial, three-dimensional perception of moving targets. The findings are significant for everyday life, as many phenomena requiring three-dimensional perception occur in motion. Despite its importance, dynamic stereoacuity has not been systematically studied, leaving a gap in the fields of ophthalmology and physiology. This lack of research extends to dynamic stereoscopy in binocular vision and perception based on movement parallax, which involves the differentiated contour displacement within a visual field, accessible even to monocular individuals during head, body, or object movement.
