The objective of the conference on which this book is based was to provide the state of the art of various methods of information processing for the analysis and assessment of different organ systems including the heart, the brain, the respiratory and renal system, as well as overall regulatory processes. There was a strong emphasis on automated EEG analysis and processing of evoked potentials. Perinatal monitoring, ICU and anesthesia monitoring, decision support and expert systems and imaging for function analysis were the themes of other working sessions.
