An Integrated Approach towards Ground Water Sustainability and Management for a Hard Rock Terrain

Focusing on groundwater resource protection, this doctoral thesis introduces a two-dimensional Risk Assessment Method (RAM) that quantifies both the likelihood of contaminant sources and their potential impacts. It shifts from traditional geo-hydrologic assessments to a model that prioritizes pollution source evaluation. Utilizing Monte Carlo simulation techniques, the research generates random pollution events aligned with historical data or predefined probability distributions, enhancing the understanding of risk in civil engineering contexts.
