Focusing on the identification of aquatic insect species in Brazil, this work aims to provide comprehensive keys for all genera and species across South America. While it does not undertake taxonomic revisions, it includes recommendations for future revisions and notes on species synonymy. The approach varies by taxon, offering detailed keys for predominantly aquatic groups like Plecoptera and Ephemeroptera, as well as for certain terrestrial and aquatic species. The goal is to assist users in accurately identifying known and potentially new species.
