Perspectives on Traditional Settlements and Communities

Focusing on traditional settlements in Indonesia, this study delves into the local concepts of home and community identity. It analyzes sociocultural strategies that help maintain these identities amid modern challenges. Organized into two parts, the first examines cross-regional habitation, while the second highlights four ethnic regions—Sa'dan Toraja, Bali, Naga, and Minangkabau—each showcasing unique traditions and customs. The research explores cultural development and environmental sustainability, posing critical questions about community responses to modernity.
