This volume showcases significant contributions to regional and urban economics by Noboru Sakashita, a leading scholar in the field. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he taught and advanced research at several universities, including Hokkaido, Tohoku, Osaka, and Tsukuba. Sakashita's journey as a regional and urban economist began in 1965 when he attended the University of Pennsylvania's Regional Science Department as a Fulbright scholar.
