This book compiles papers from the International Symposium on Penile Disorders held in Hamburg, Germany, on January 26-27, 1996, chaired by Hartmut Porst. The conference uniquely addressed various disorders affecting the penis, starting with sociocultural aspects presented by G. Wagner from Copenhagen. K.-P. J Unemann from Mannheim discussed the anatomy and physiology of erection. Unlike previous conferences that focused solely on impotence, this event explored a wide range of conditions, including congenital disorders like hypospadias and epispadias, sexually transmitted and non-infectious dermatological diseases, as well as congenital and acquired penile curvatures and fractures. S. C. Müller from Bonn provided an excellent presentation on managing penile cancer through stage-related therapeutic decisions. J. Pryor from London delivered a comprehensive discussion on Peyronie's disease from both historical and management perspectives. I. Saenz de Tejada from Madrid also showcased expertise regarding priapism. This symposium marked a significant advancement in the understanding and management of penile disorders, offering valuable insights and a holistic view of male sexual health.
