Evolutionary Biology is a crucial and captivating discipline that elucidates various biological phenomena. Since Darwin's time, debates have emerged regarding the driving forces and mechanisms of evolution. Today, with habitats changing due to climate effects and human activity, microevolutionary aspects like natural hybridization are gaining attention in scientific research. Hybridization, akin to horizontal gene transfer in microorganisms, allows complex life forms to access the gene pool of other organisms, enabling them to adapt more swiftly to environmental challenges. The perception of natural hybridization as a rare occurrence has evolved, with recent studies revealing that many hybrids are fertile and can compete with their parent species, particularly in shifting environments. This work highlights a study on 14 species from the bird genera Phoenicurus (Redstarts), Rhyacornis (Water-Redstarts), and Chaimarrornis, found in Europe and Asia, especially in the Caucasus and Himalayas, where multiple species coexist. The research combines field studies from expeditions in Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, classical methods like morphology and behavior comparisons, breeding experiments, and biochemical tools such as gene sequencing and microsatellite analysis. This comprehensive approach has unveiled natural hybridization in populations in East Turkey and Central Asia, illustrating the effects and consequences of cro
