At the end of WWII, a number of German admirals held as prisoners of war were persuaded by British naval intelligence officials to write down their thoughts on Germany's build up to war, its early victories, and eventual defeat. Produced by a father-son team of naval historians, this volume places extracts from English translations of these memoirs within their historical context.
