Recent research on valency has yielded significant insights into language, with many findings presented for the first time in this volume, focusing primarily on English and German. It includes examples of contrastive analysis beneficial for professionals working with these languages. The psycholinguistic and computational linguistics sections illustrate the applicability of valency theory, highlighting the collaboration between theoretical and descriptive linguistics and applied disciplines.
