Meer over het boek
Thomas Kiesewetter (b. 1963 in Kassel, lives and works in Berlin) creates abstract, deconstructivist sculptures using industrial materials, primarily sheet metal, which he bends and folds playfully. The assembled, brightly painted components evoke modernist architectural forms, reflecting Kiesewetter's engagement with twentieth-century sculpture while remaining distinctly contemporary. The human body subtly underlines his work. This book highlights the sculptor's creative process, featuring early models made of paper and cardboard, as well as full-size mockups crafted from wood and other materials. The selection of sculptures, including newer pieces, provides a focused yet representative overview of Kiesewetter's extensive sculptural oeuvre. An essay by Friedrich Meschede accompanies the collection.
