Designed for an introductory survey course in building construction, this text deals with the common materials of building and the methods by which they are incorporated into buildings. Written by a former MIT architectural member, it features clear, direct writing and simple, local organization based on the well-known CSI format. The book covers all of the most common construction systems and materials, including light wood frame, masonry bearing wall, steel frame, and reinforced concrete.
