Set against the backdrop of a lush Italian estate, the story follows Ramona Drottoveo, an albino chambermaid whose captivating scent attracts men while inciting women's disdain. After her husband's death, she and her lover are exiled to Naples, where the birth of her daughter Blandina alters her life dramatically. As Blandina inherits Ramona's alluring scent, the dynamics of attraction shift, leading Ramona back to the estate for an unexpected reunion and a chance for revenge.
