The Jefferson Bible: The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth

Focused on distilling the essential teachings of Jesus, Thomas Jefferson meticulously edited the New Testament to create a narrative devoid of supernatural elements and perceived misinterpretations. By cutting and rearranging verses from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, he aimed to present a coherent account of Jesus' life and morals. Although he shared this work with friends, it remained unpublished during his lifetime, with the most complete version later published in 1895.
