G.I. Bridegroom

Set during World War II, the story follows Roger Bowler, a young navigator on a Lancaster Bomber who travels to America for pilot training. While recovering from surgery, he falls for Belinda, a nurse-aid, leading him to abandon his fiancée, Susan, and marry her instead. However, Roger's health issues prevent him from becoming a pilot, and he returns to the UK. Belinda's influential uncle helps her join him, but tragedy strikes when her ship is torpedoed en route to England.
