In comparison with the posters of London Transport and its predecessors, those of the London County Council Tramways, which date from the twelve years 1922-1933, have had little exposure since they were first displayed at the time of their publication. This book puts matters right, as the LCC posters include designs that are of equal quality to some the best of the better known designs from other organisations during the same period. Jonathan Riddell has researched all the archives that have copies of the original posters and the majority of those that were published are included here, together with some of the original artwork prepared by the poster artists.
