"Stop: Think" has to be one of the most controversial books to be published in this pre-millennium year. It attacks the "Washington consensus" brand of laissez-faire economics and blames it for the global economic crisis that took the world by surprise. Economists never learn and their monetarist, neo-classical ideology simply repeats all of the mistakes of previous generations which gave capitalism its systemic boom-bust cycles.
