At time of publication it appears the Borders Waverley line may finally be reopened and the Borders could soon enjoy the convenience of a railway once again. In the meantime, this book recalls that line and the many branches as they once were, back in the nineteen fifties and sixties before massive rail closures were instituted. Covering the whole of the Borders region, including parts of England, this collection of fifty-five images includes the stations at Langholm, Reston, Burnmouth, Eyemouth, Coldstream, Jedburgh, Galashiels, Hawick, Carlisle, and many others, as well evocative photographs of locomotives puffing across the rolling Borders countryside.
