Originally a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse, Azarian was commissioned to create this series in the late 1970s, capturing scenes that reflect the essence of the state's farming culture through each letter from A to Z. The artwork showcases her artistic talent and deep connection to the community, ultimately leading to her recognition as a Caldecott medalist.
