The Other Hybrid Archipelago

Focusing on postcolonial literature from the Indian Ocean islands, this work explores French language writings from Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, the Comoros, and the Seychelles since World War II. It delves into the interplay between popular theater, music, and the islands' contemporary social and political landscapes, highlighting their colonial legacies. This examination aims to introduce these unique cultural expressions to an Anglophone audience, enriching the understanding of the region's literary and artistic heritage.
