EXPLORING ORFORD''S CONCEPT OF STRONG ATTACHMENT

Exploring the emotional attachment to substances and activities, this book delves into how such attachments shape behavior, cognition, and emotions, aiming to create a clear operational definition of emotional attachment. Through semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the study identifies 23 cognitive and emotional themes central to understanding this attachment, while highlighting the challenges of distinguishing 16 behavioral manifestations from typical dependence indicators. The findings suggest that measuring attachment should prioritize emotional and cognitive factors to avoid confusion with dependence metrics.
