Sidney "Sid" James, originally Solomon Joel Cohen, was a notable character and comic actor from Johannesburg. He began his film career in British cinema in 1947, initially taking on small roles. His prominence grew significantly as he co-starred with Tony Hancock in the popular series Hancock's Half Hour, which transitioned from radio to television between 1954 and 1961. The book explores his journey from a middle-class Jewish upbringing to becoming a beloved figure in British entertainment.
