The story follows Kit, a specialist in locating lost individuals, as she takes on the case of an older woman seeking her daughter, whom she placed for adoption nearly forty-five years ago. The daughter, a retired Air Force veteran, vanished after her service, with her last known whereabouts at Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. Despite a prior investigator's failure to find her, Kit embarks on a journey to uncover the truth and reunite mother and daughter.
