When the Nonhawks capture a tribe member, Clump's father, Serpen, leads a rescue mission that goes awry, resulting in Clump being wrongfully accused and fleeing for his life. His journey introduces him to a witch, a Plainwalker, and an Elvin princess, forging unexpected friendships and love amidst themes of betrayal and self-discovery.
