Set against the backdrop of Napoleonic France, the story follows Citizen Peyrol, a retired pirate seeking tranquility after decades of tumultuous life at sea. Returning to a war-torn homeland, he hopes to find peace in a secluded farmhouse on the Escampobar Peninsula. However, his plans are disrupted when young Lieutenant Real enlists his help for a perilous mission, reigniting Peyrol's spirit of adventure and calling him to embrace a new chapter filled with danger and patriotism, intertwined with the lives of local inhabitants like the enchanting Arlette.
