Dylan Sloan is a girl born into a pretty stable life. She has basically everything a girl could ask for. Except for two things: a mother and freedom. Her father refuses to talk about why her mother left them when she was a baby and he keeps her under strict lock and key meaning Dylan lives a pretty boring life. But all that changes when she meets Patch. A boy with a strange name, strange clothes and an ominous background Patch is seemingly a mystery when it comes to his origins. Against her father's best wishes she tries to talk to Patch during their art class. But when a fateful encounter outside of school prompts her to ask him about his hidden secrets, he willingly obliges on one condition: he show her rather than tell her. So she starts on a journey to unravel the secrets behind Patch's past, leading her on a road trip away from her family and her old life to do one thing: find out the truth about her mother. But will Dylan ever be able to give up her past? Or will Patch's past come back to haunt them both?
