This publication sums up the results of an expert meeting in Munich which dealt with a detailed definition of the outstanding universal value (OUV) of monuments and historic sites. The objectives of this publication are to provide an in-depth base for all State Parties and institutions working within the World Heritage Convention and to enable them to evaluate the condition of World Heritage sites with regard to the preservation of their outstanding universal value (OUV) originally defined for their inscription.
