I castrati, o evirati cantori, o soprani eunuchi, secondo le varie terminologie che li definivano, sono più spesso stati raccontati, infatti, per chiave di parodia o caricatura, oppure, il che ha lo stesso impatto, come simboli, fantasmi di un’epoca oscura.
