Prof. Donatella Fioretti and her team, Chair of Design and Construction at the Technical University of Berlin planned a Design Build project for Baynetna. Between Us. in the winter semester of 2016/17. In an integrated concept, architecture students and refugee guest students designed and built multifunctional furniture. This furniture is not only used for typical library functions but as well for workshops and events.

In collaboration with the organisation Über den Tellerrand, Prof. Donatella Fioretti and her team, Chair of Design and Construction at the Technical University of Berlin planned a one-to-one design project for Kitchen on the Run in the winter semester of 2015/16. A typical shipping container was reconstructed as a mobile kitchen, complete with expandable modules. In this integrated concept, architecture students designed and built shelves, tables and benches. Community members of Über den Tellerrand have been travelling with the container throughout Europe for six months using it to organize community cooking events with refugees and locals.
In the summer semester 2014, the department for design and construction, TU Berlin, Prof. Donatella Fioretti planned and erected 1:1 design projects in collaboration with the cultural project “Village Meets Opera” of the association FestLand e. V. For the production of an opera the association developed the idea of an opera park, which would contain certain architectural structures to serve the musical performance and the overall event. Within a timeframe of six weeks, sixty-four students in the first year of their studies planned and built a kid´s workroom, a One-Book-Library, a pavilion for watergames, a ticket box, a grillpalace and a sound studio.
