El presente libro investiga el uso de la palabra “revolución” en el discurso literario de cuatro novelas escritas por Mariano Azuela (1873-1952) en la segunda década del siglo XX y en diferentes análisis de las mismas, publicados en los años sesenta y setenta por investigadores con diferentes trasfondos político-ideológicos, culturales e institucionales: Adalbert Dessau (1928-1984), Ronald Daus (*1943), Antonio Castro Leal (1896-1981) y Antonio Magaña Esquivel (1909-1987).

Focusing on the grammaticalization processes, this paper examines the evolution of "ought (to)" and "should" in the English language from historical to present-day usage. It begins by addressing key terminological concepts such as grammar, modality, and mood. The study categorizes these constructions, noting the complexities in their classification. It then analyzes their semantic and morphosyntactic changes over time, ultimately linking these developments to the principles of grammaticalization proposed by Lehmann and Hopper.
